Born in Chicago Illinois. Chairman is the son of Black Panther Party Leader Chairman Fred Hampton Sr. and Deborah Johnson (Akua Njeri). He was born 25 days after his father was assassinated by the Chicago police in a 1969 raid.
Hampton graduated from Tilden High School and studied journalism at Olive- Harvey College.
Family History
Chairman Fred Hampton was the Chairman of the Illinois Chapter of The Black Panther Party. On December 4th, he was assassinated in Chicago by the FBI. Njeri was 8.5 months pregnant with Chairman Fred Jr. His first stethoscope was the end of a gun.
He now serves as the Chairman of the Black Panther Party Cubs (BPPC), made up of descendants of Black Panthers. He continues to organize to bring people together across racial and class lines. He also is a spoken word artist and poet.
Akua Njeri, along with her son, Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. continue to do the work of Chairman Fred & defend his legacy from historical hijackers & political opportunists.
